A.S.P. is looking for Airside Access Control Officer, who take pride in becoming ambassador of Airport and make every interaction professional and positive. Work with integrity, respect, and take responsibility of the security and safety at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
What you will do:
- Monitor and verify RAICs, ensuring only authorized access to the Restricted Area;
- Monitor all persons leaving a Restricted Area;
- Prevent a breach of security by preventing entry or re-entry of persons and/or arriving passengers into the Restricted Area (sterile hold room);
- Immediately advise the AOCC regarding expired, lost, stolen, misprinted, or improperly utilized RAICs, as discovered during Access Control duties;
- Assist the Ports Toronto Protective Services, Toronto Police Services or any other law enforcement agency as directed;
- Reports to the AOCC any suspicious persons or any deficiencies with respect to the post, i.e. missing lists, etc.;
- Provide assistance to the public, i.e., general information, directions, etc.;
- Carry and operate portable radios to communicate with each other and the Airport Operations Communication Center; and
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
- Patrol the primary security line doors in the terminal building and adjacent gates and report any deficiencies of security barrier to the AOCC;
- Provide coverage for breaks as directed by the site supervisor and/or manager;
- Provide surge capacity to any security post (static or mobile) as needed;
- Provide assistance to the public, i.e., general information, directions, etc.;
- Report any observed facility deficiencies or outages to the AOCC;
- Carry and operate portable radios to communicate with each other and the Airport Operations Communication Center; and
- Other related security duties or assignments as directed.
Who you are:
- Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education;
- Eligible to work in Canada;
- Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office;
- Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills;
- Must Possess a valid Security license, and be able to obtain a Standard first aid certification;
- Possession of a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) is an asset;
- Airside Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP) Mandatory with D License;
- Full G Ontario Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.

Compensation
Expected compensation: $21.00 per hour
The compensation range reflects base hourly pay and does not include overtime or premiums where applicable.
