ASP is looking for an Event Supervisor for the Great Outdoor Comedy Festival at Erindale Park, Mississauga. This is a 3-day outdoor festival engagement running September 11 through 13, 2026, noon to midnight each day. The Event Supervisor will take full ownership of security operations — from front-gate entry and bag searching to perimeter patrol, alcohol compliance, and backstage access control. We are seeking a polished, experienced security professional who has supervised complete events end-to-end and can lead a team with authority, professionalism, and composure.
What you will do:
- Supervise all front gate operations including ticket verification, crowd flow management, and bag searching of patrons
- Direct and conduct regular foot patrols across the Erindale Park festival grounds throughout each shift
- Monitor and secure the perimeter, festival zones, and all access points on an ongoing basis
- Enforce AGCO alcohol service regulations and event liquor policies; monitor licensed areas and ensure Smart Serve compliance throughout
- Control and enforce access to backstage areas, production zones, and all restricted sections of the festival site
- Manage artist, crew, and vendor credentialing and liaise professionally with talent representatives and production staff
- Assume full supervisory responsibility for the on-site security team across all three event days
- Assign posts, manage gate assignments and rotation schedules, and maintain operational momentum throughout each shift
- Conduct shift briefings, provide real-time direction, and coach team members as required
- Complete and review incident reports, shift logs, and equipment tracking with accuracy and timeliness
- Provide oversight and leadership of security guards and team leads; provide coaching and discipline if necessary
- Collaborate with event organizers, ASP management, other security organizations, and local authorities
- Investigate, report, and respond to any incidents; serve as the point of direction for the site team in emergency situations
- Assist in emergency situations such as evacuations and medical incidents; be responsible for keys, radios, and equipment tracking during shift changes
- Work in compliance with OHSA, AODA, CCC, PSISA, and AGCO regulations
- Perform other relevant functions as required by ASP management and the event client
Working Environment:
- Fully outdoor event on the open grounds of Erindale Park — all weather conditions apply
- Working in all elements of the weather including rain, high winds, sun and heat
- Standing and walking for up to 12 hours per shift
- Large outdoor festival venue with only portable washroom access
- On show days, exposure to loud music and large crowds
- Potential exposure to outdoor elements such as bugs, bees, and tall grass
Who you are:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Demonstrated experience supervising complete events from front gates (including bag searching) to patrol, alcohol compliance, and backstage — event experience is required
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Must possess a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (PSISA) — mandatory
- Must possess valid Smart Serve certification — mandatory
- Must possess valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED certification — mandatory
- Must be available for all 3 event days: September 11, 12, and 13, 2026 (noon to midnight each day) — all 3 days mandatory
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional radio use
- Ability to work in a crowded, high-energy environment, think critically, and lead a team under pressure
- Able to walk extended distances and work in all weather conditions for 12-hour shifts
Competitive wages:
- Wage: $26.00/hour
- 3-day event contract: September 11, 12, and 13, 2026
