TACTICAL RESIDENTIAL SECURITY GUARD

ASP is looking for Security Guards for Halton Region’s headquarters, corporate properties, and other locations, with both static and casual roles available. Candidates must possess previous security experience and be able to provide highly visible service in a professional, competent, and courteous manner, whilst exercising excellent communication and customer service skills. Working with integrity and awareness, the Security Guard takes responsibility for securing and protecting our clients, their guests and vendors, and the Region’s properties.

What you will do:

• Protection from theft, vandalism and trespassing
• Physically monitoring and patrolling of property and garage
• Providing professional, diplomatic and pro-active security services
• Foot patrols on site on an ongoing hourly basis
• Investigate, report and respond to any events, occurrences and incidents that happen on site
• Assisting in emergency situations including evacuation and injury
• Ensure adherence to all alcohol and drug policies and procedures
• Work in compliance with Occupational Health & safety regulations
• Be responsible for keys and other equipment such as cellphones and radios
• Perform other relevant security functions as required.

Who you are:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of tactical security experience
• Must posses a valid Use of Force certificate (Stay Safe preferred)
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Military or Law Enforcement experience an asset.
• Previous experience with the Trespass to Property Act an asset
• Ability to work in high stress environment.
• Ability to make quick and informed decisions.
• Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid, CPR and AED certification Standard Level C
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to work 8-12 hour rotations overnight mandatory, inclusive of holidays and weekends
• Able to walk extended distances, including stairs.

Compensation

• Expected compensation: $19.35 per hour
• The compensation range reflects base hourly pay and does not include overtime or premiums where applicable.
