 Event and Alcohol Compliance Specialist

ASP is looking for Event and Alcohol Compliance Specialist for the Great Outdoor Comedy Festival in Mississauga. This fully outdoor event operates in all weather conditions and attracts large crowds of guests enjoying live entertainment. Candidates must possess exceptional customer service skills, demonstrate professionalism, and be comfortable enforcing event and alcohol policies while maintaining a positive guest experience. Working with integrity and awareness supporting responsible alcohol consumption and maintaining a safe event environment. 

What you will do: 

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, wind, and direct sunlight 

  • Monitor licensed areas to ensure compliance with liquor regulations and event policies 

  • Verify age identification and monitor wrist banding procedures 

  • Bag checks , ingress and egress procedures  

  • Observe guests for signs of intoxication or unsafe behavior 

  • Assist with the refusal of service to intoxicated patrons when required 

  • Monitor entrances and exits of licensed areas 

  • Prevent unauthorized alcohol from entering or leaving designated areas 

  • Conduct regular patrols throughout licensed spaces 

  • Maintain detailed incident reports and compliance documentation 

  • Respond to and report policy violations, disturbances, or safety concerns 

  • Communicate effectively with event management, beverage service teams, and security personnel 

  • Assist with emergency response procedures as directed 

  • Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing policies in a professional manner 

  • Work in compliance with AGCO guidelines, OHSA, AODA, PSISA, and company procedures 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors 

  • Working Environment: 

  • Fully outdoor event venue 

  • Exposure to changing weather conditions including rain, heat, humidity, and wind 

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of up to 12 hours 

  • Exposure to large crowds and high guest volumes 

  • Frequent interaction with patrons consuming alcohol 

  • Exposure to loud entertainment and event noise 

  • Walking on grass, gravel, uneven terrain, and temporary event surfaces 

  • Use of radios and other communication equipment throughout the shift 

Who you are: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older 

  • Eligible to work in Canada 

  • Must possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License 

  • Minimum 6 months of customer service, events, hospitality, security, or related experience 

  • Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification (Standard Level C preferred) 

  • Experience working events, checking for intoxication  

  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices is considered an asset 

  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills 

  • Strong observation and decision-making abilities 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions 

  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and event days
